Intuitive Collage | January 2025

  • Intā 18 Paardenmarkt Antwerpen, 2000 Belgium (map)
Intimate Concert: Mélodie Blaison
from €12.00

POSTPONED TBD

Mélodie Blaison is a French artist, flutist and composer based in Brussels. Integrating her classical training with experimental and electronic production, her research is rooted in a desire to create intimate, narrative, immersive and sensory experiences.

With a sensual, intimate approach to breath, her music, somewhere between acoustic and synthetic, is a ceremonial interval whose ghostly presences and organic harmonies disturb landmarks and stretch time into an emotional journey.

Her work is a space for experimentation, combining modular sculptures, immersive installations and sound objects. She is interested in hybrid spaces that can generate fiction while questioning our relationship to the world via creative processes rooted in care, ecofeminist theories or the poetic mapping of speculative worlds.

Her electroacoustic musical project combines different flutes, including the transverse flute, and personal ceramic creations, as well as the collection of voices and field recordings.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Mélodie Blaison, born in 1992 in Avignon, is a French artist, flutist and composer based in Brussels.

After studying the flute at the Conservatoire, she graduated from the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Nantes (Fr) in 2016.

She continues her research in the Art and Sound Creation post-graduate program at ENSA Bourges (Fr) in 2021.

Her work has been shown in such venues as CAC La Traverse, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Beursschouwburg in Brussels and the Huidenclub in Rotterdam.

Avant le Rivage, released in 2024 on Wabi-Sabi Tapes, is her second album, following VINTVRI, released on Grande Rousse Disques in 2022.
